Week 6

The season reaches the midway point for several teams, and for those teams that have stumbled to this point, well, it's all downhill from here. ...

But enough of our yakking. Get this: Five days of football this week. Five!

It begins Tuesday night with Marshall playing at Memphis. Now the Thundering Herd last played on Sept. 22. Memphis, on the other hand, played Thursday night. Nonetheless, the Tigers are two-point favorites.

On Wednesday, Rice (+21) plays at Southern Mississippi. The rested Owls last played on Sept. 22. The Golden Eagles, in another short turnaround, played Thursday night.

On Thursday, Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson will take center stage when the undefeated Wildcats (+3.5) play at South Carolina.

On Friday, it's a matchup of teams that have fallen short of expectations as Utah (+14.5) travels to Louisville.

Games of note on Saturday: Cincinnati (+3) at Rutgers; Wisconsin (+2.5) at Illinois; Ohio State (-6.5) at Purdue; Oklahoma (-10.5) vs. Texas at Dallas; Nebraska (+7) at Missouri; Notre Dame (+20.5) at UCLA; Georgia (+2) at Tennessee and Florida (+8) at Louisiana State.
